Anything Goes - June 1996

NODA NORTH WEST REVIEW

With music and lyrics by Cole Porter you are on your way to a successful production, and so it turned out for this society. There were many good performances from the principals, most notably Paul Weston (Sir Evelyn Oakleigh), Alan Underwood (Moonface), Gerry Walshe (Croker), Sheila Beverly (Bonnie) and Alison Chard (Hope). The story line is a little weak but it is all held together by the wonderful musical numbers.

The production in the hands of Carol Lawrence was both inventive and imaginative. Choreography by Carole A Critchley was adequate, and the orchestra under the baton of Glyn Lloyd gave good support. Sets, lighting, props and costumes were all of a good standard. All in all an enjoyable and entertaining evening out.
