NODA NORTH WEST REVIEW

Bravo, St. Annes! This was one of the best shows I have seen this year. Credit must go to the all female production team, Carol Lawrence, producer, Julie Drury, choreographer and musical director, Gill Streatfield.

High quality performances were given by all the cast, principals and chorus both. David Chard as Arthur was excellent. Bernadette Lillystone (Morgan le Fey), Stephen Hagen (Mordred), Gerry Walsh (Lancelot) and Michael Wynne (Merlin) all supported admirably, but on my visit the outstanding performance came from Alison Waddington as Guenevere. For dressing the show all costumes were colourful, looked new and spectacular. The scenery and the lighting were complementary to the enjoyment. The music was handled with great assurance by Gill Streatfield and her orchestra.

Finally, on a purely personal note, I must say how good it was to see Peter Weston back on stage again. While still not back to 100% health, he was more than that in his performances as a slightly eccentric Pellinore.
